Anne Newman lost her daughter Stefanie in 1997. Shortly afterwards, she lost her husband Lou to cancer. Later, she would survive the shock of hearing her son-in-law Craig confess to the killing of Stefanie. Anne Newman now takes care of her granddaughter Haley, with the help of her son Ira.

Rabbi Wolpe has decided to retire after 30 years of service in the Har Zion in Penn Valley. Many of his sermons have been published and recognized throughout the Jewish community. Many Jews have considered his 1986 High Holiday sermon as a highlight in his career.
