Russia and the CIS in 2007: Putin's final year?

Article Abstract:

The political, economical, and foreign policy of Russia in the year 2007 is examined. Putin won the year end elections which can be attributed to Russia's strong economic performance, his skilled leadership improved Russia's status in world affairs, and his visit to India resulted in signing a joint statement on cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

Indonesia in 2007: unmet expectations, despite improvement

Article Abstract:

The growing sense of disappointment with Indonesia's sixth president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono because of his failure to deliver on electoral promises is reviewed. Indonesia's plan to build a nuclear reactor in 2007 to help meet Java's expanding energy needs resurfaced and the government implemented various structural reforms.
