The Edison experiment: wonder what the for-profit company intends to do with Philadelphia's schools? Take a look at Chester

Article Abstract:

Edison Schools started managing the educational system in Chester, PA, in summer 2001. It is investing very heavily in the schools for which it is responsible, but its aim is to make large profits in the long term. It seems likely that this company will go on to manage schools in Philadelphia, PA.
