Where do we go from here? Let our past be our guide to the future

Article Abstract:

The success of the Association of Third World Studies (ATWS) is its ability to be a spokesman for peaceful development in a world confronted by war and terror, and its capacity to act as a voice of reason, overcoming the den of hate and fanaticism. Finding new sources of funding in the times of economic stagnation to perpetuate their programs and encouraging young scholars to join the organization are some of the challenges faced by the ATWS.

Azerbaijan descending into the third world after a decade of independence

Article Abstract:

Azerbaijan was relegated to the category of a Third-World nation after the demise of the USSR as the promise of peace, freedom and prosperity, which seemed to come with the end of communism, has disappeared into the distance a mere ten years later. Capitalism has won and the class struggle for power and wealth relapsed as the driving force of history as the country has moved backward rather than forward since the beginning of reforms.

Globalization and the development of underdevelopment of the third world

Article Abstract:

The MNCs, the Western media technology, the WTO, the IMF/World Bank, and the United States of America are responsible for the development of underdevelopment of the peripheral countries in the process of globalization.
