A Cave man laid bare

Article Abstract:

A life which is disordered and contains many emotional upheavals can be very enjoyable, according to singer and songwriter Nick Cave. Some of the recent developments in his life, including the ending of his marriage, are reflected in songs on his latest album, 'The Boatman's Call,' his 10th as a solo artist. However, he does not deliberately attempt to create chaos in order to gain source material. He is careful not to use his songwriting abilities simply in order to make money, as he feels that this would cause him to lose these abilities.

It's not unlike dating...

Article Abstract:

Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach have cooperated to write the album 'Painted From Memory,' which they are now performing. Their work on this album began in 1995, when they collaborated to write a song for the film 'Grace of my Heart.' Bacharach has successfully developed intricate arrangements to accommodate Costello's voice, while Costello's words do not feature as prominently as usual. They feel that their work together has a strong element of novelty because their experiences are very different.

Talking about my generation

Article Abstract:

There are generally rather negative views in the UK music industry about the impact of Conservative government on social, political and cultural life. Some observers believe that music has flourished during the Conservative administration since 1979, but in spite of, rather than because of, the government's policies. Others are much more openly critical of the Conservative party, holding it responsible for severe problems in education and the National Health Service.
