Kool skools rool ok?

Article Abstract:

Summerhill school is a famous progressive school in Britain, and it has been criticized by inspectors for allegedly not seeing the difference between personal freedom and idleness. Intellectuals from the political left initially sent their children to progressive schools, which were designed to counter the brutality found in schools at the time they were set up. The ideas that they pronmoted, such as treating children with kindness and allowing them to be involved in how they learnt, were seen as odd. Modern British parents may be more conservative, though Summerhill is popular abroad.
