A fancy box of tricks, but who's buying?

Article Abstract:

The recent decision by Neil Hamilton and Ian Greer not to pursue a libel case against the Guardian newspaper has highlighted the political intrigue which has been going on for some years among certain politicians, political lobbyists and business leaders in the UK. There is particular concern regarding the actions of Mohamed Al Fayed, the owner of Harrods, and Tiny Rowland, who also sought to gain control of Harrods. Al Fayed has admitted to channeling funds to MPs, and this may call into question his future as the owner of Harrods.

Handicapped hit by cutbacks

Article Abstract:

The UK government's chief inspector of social services is to undertake an inquiry into claims of financial mismanagement by Lancashire social services department. This follows widespread concern in the county about cost cutting measures which have severely restricted care packages for handicapped people. There have been many cases of respite care and home help services being reduced or withdrawn, while charges for non-residential services for people with learning difficulties are also set to rise.
