A frame around the world

Article Abstract:

Off-road travel by bicycle is an ideal way to visit very attractive places without causing the environmental damage frequently associated with tourism. This form of travel offers a physical and mental challenge, but can also be very relaxing. There are many opportunities for off-road travel by bicycle in the UK and Europe. Some trips may take several weeks, but others can be completed in a weekend and can be combined with rail travel. When undertaking a long trip, it is vital to have high quality equipment and experience.

Unloose the dogs of squelch

Article Abstract:

There can be many challenges associated with dog sledding. The dog teams are expensive and time-consuming to keep and train, and there are many techniques to be learned in order to keep the dogs under control. Siberian huskies, which are the best sled dogs, will obey many commands, but they still cannot be trained off the lead and are therefore not suitable as pets. One of the main dog sledding events in the UK in 1998 will be the Aviemore Snow Rally, which takes place on 24 Jan and 25 Jan, 1998.

View to a thrill

Article Abstract:

Flying in a glider can seem very frightening at first, as there seems to be very little provision for safety. However, once the rather alarming experience of becoming airborne is completed, a glider seems gentle and secure. It soon becomes clear that a glider is very easy to control, and it can be very exhilarating to undertake complex turns and spins. There is little sensation of speed until landing. Almost anybody can learn to glide, as long as they are sufficiently confident.
