A fresh look at the new centre of learning

Article Abstract:

The Midlands area of the UK offers many attractions for students. Indeed, Birmingham, England, has one of the largest student populations outside London, England. There are three main higher education institutions in the region: the University of Central England, the University of Birmingham and Aston University. Aston University is one of the leading science universities in the UK, while the University of Birmingham has an attractive campus, even though is is located only three miles from the city centre.

Mad dons and dreaming spires

Article Abstract:

There is a tradition of academic eccentrics at Cambridge and Oxford universities, England. One professor from Cambridge used to give lessons while he was in his bath, while another scolded the police for stopping him while driving erratically because he was involved in major philosophical thoughts. Eccentrics are becoming less common, and academics have a more respectable image. There is also more leeway for men to be eccentric than for women, who tend to be criticised more heavily.

A unique opportunity - if used wisely

Article Abstract:

Many young people in the UK now decide to take a gap year after leaving school and before beginning a university course. However, this is not necessarily an easy option, and should not be used as way of escaping difficult decisions.
