A light drama in Devon

Article Abstract:

It is much easier to garden on a slope than on the level, according to planthunter and collector Jimmy Smart. He began gardening seriously in the early 1960s, and had already gained a strong reputation in horticultural circles before he retired from medicine in 1975. He now employs five gardeners at Marwood Hill, his garden near Barnstaple, England. The garden includes a large nursery which produces a very wide range of plants for sale.
