A restoration drama

Article Abstract:

The restoration of the church of San Silvestro in Bevagna, Italy, which suffered earthquake damage in 1997 and 1998, will present significant challenges. This church, which was constructed by Maestro Binelli and completed in 1195, has no frescoes or individual art works, but is still a beautiful example of Romanesque architecture. It was damaged in a very complex way, turning clockwise on its foundations and tilting back. It is now widely recognized that restoration should seek to change as little as possible and to use traditional materials.

Working-class hero gone bad

Article Abstract:

Three companies are competing to produce a definitive film about playwright Christopher Marlowe, who was stabbed to death in May 1593. The main problem with such a project is that there are very few reliable facts about his life. These few facts have connections with many possible plots about homosexuality, spying and blasphemy. However Marlowe's life is presented, he still inspires great passion, as reflected in the many novels and other scripts he has inspired since the late 1980s.
