The world economy is likely to be very negatively affected by the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. Most economists believe that a recession is now inevitable, although some feel that the US economy will show resilience.

All agreed on the economy but what about the aftershocks?

Article Abstract:

There is a consensus that the terrorist attacks in the US will accelerate the downturn already taking place in the US economy. There will be some repercussions for the rest of the world, but the situation will improve in 2002. This forecast would be disrupted if there were further terrorist attacks or prolonged uncertainty about the West's military response.
