Blair 'will break' major pledge on NHS

The UK government will have to spend at least an additional 18 billion pounds sterling a year on the National Health Service if it is to meet its commitment to boost health spending to the European average, according to a report from the King's Fund.

PM pledges inquiry into cancer sufferer's wait

UK Prime Minister Tony Blair has promised an investigation into the treatment of cancer patient Keith Sedgwick. Blair was tackled on this issue by Sedgwick's partner Sharon Storer when he visited Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, England.
