Britain may be too close for comfort to the US when a recession strikes

It's not the environment that concerns them, it's the recession

Article Abstract:

Astonishing US figures pose fresh questions for us on limits to growth

Article Abstract:

It seems likely that official figures in the US actually understate the rate of economic growth. This may also be the case in the UK. However, this does not mean that economic growth will necessarily continue for longer than was previously expected. The capacity of the economy is greater than previously believed, but the level of activity is also higher, and limits of capacity will still be met. Current economic growth in the US indicates that open, service-oriented economies do not come up against capacity restraints in the same way as closed ones based on manufacturing.
