But it's all in the game ...

Article Abstract:

ITV and the BBC have traditionally dominated television coverage of sporting events, but this is no longer the case. There is now strong competition for television rights, and satellite channels are now winning exclusive deals to cover national sporting events. These developments have had a great impact on the way sporting events are covered and have reshaped sports themselves. Terrestrial television will now have to resign itself to shared coverage and access to secondary rights through delayed transmission or highlights.

Hollywood's defender of 'evil' stands up for his body count

Article Abstract:

Oliver Stone's film 'Natural Born Killers' is accused by its critics of having prompted 10 copycat murders in the US and mainland Europe, and a number of UK newspapers called for it to be banned when it was being considered by the British Board of Film Classification. However, it is now to go on general release, and Stone has criticised the reaction of UK newspapers as hysterical. He believes that the film should be seen as an indictment of media overreaction which makes true life crime into prime-time television.

Body and sole, my trainers are alive

Article Abstract:

People who collect Nike trainers regard designers Sergio Lozana and Tinker Hatfield as their heroes. True fans of Nike trainers do not wear them simply to make a fashion statement, as they accept Nike head Phil 'Zeus' Knight's view that the company's trainers are designed purely for performance. Some observers feel that Nike may be getting too greedy, charging very high prices for its trainers. However, they still regard Nike as the leading trainer manufacturer.
