Can we have our lunch now, Miss?

Article Abstract:

There are mixed views in the UK about whether school trips have any real educational value. They are very complicated for teachers to arrange and can costs schools a lot of money if parents fail to make their contribution. Furthermore, children often do not seem to remember the elements of the trip that were supposed to be of greatest educational value. However, teachers feel that children can greatly benefit from being in a new environment. Trips certainly have social advantages, and this can be just as important as actually learning something.

Being middle class makes boys a target

Article Abstract:

It has become very common for middle class boys in the UK to become the victim of an attack, especially by boys from a rival school. In many cases, the victims do not report the attack, as they do not wish their parents or teachers to restrict their freedom. If parents do learn of the attack, they often dismiss it as insignificant. Schools give little advice on how to deal with threatening situations, and the police tend to focus their work in schools on drugs.
