Charterhouse blues

Article Abstract:

The music group Genesis has been playing since 1967 and includes Tony Banks, Ray Wilson and Mike Rutherford. Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel are among previous members. Rutherford is also involved in a band called Mike and the Mechanics. Phil Collins left the band in 1996 and had long performed as a solo artist. Rutherford attended Charterhouse school and the band was formed with other musicians from that school. He has problems communicating with his wife and is still in touch with schoolmates, contact that has made him wealthy.

Bring no spears to 'Jerusalem.' (Church of Scotland to drop William Blake's hymn 'Jerusalem' from future editions of its hymnary)(Column)

Article Abstract:

The Church of Scotland has recently decided not to include William Blake's hymn 'Jerusalem' in future editions of its hymnary. This is because its words seem to indicate a prejudice against city dwellers and support of feudalism, both of which are out of tune with modern life. To take this stance is to indicate the central role which this hymn has played in British life over recent generations. It has inspired many people, and has acted as a unifying force.

The night I stepped on Darcey's toes

Article Abstract:

Darcey Bussell, principal dancer at the Royal Ballet, is aware that her career as a classical dancer will inevitably be quite short. She plans to keep going for as long as she can, and then take up contemporary work, which is less demanding. She is also attracted to show business, but had to give up tap dancing in order to focus on classical ballet. She would also like to work in films, especially costume dramas.
