Cars could tell the truth about their drivers

Article Abstract:

Manufacturers have traditionally had only very limited links with their customers, while companies involved in providing services have been able to establish valuable long-term relationships with customers. This situation may now be starting to change. The European Union plans to make car manufacturers take back their products at the end of their life and recycle a large proportion of the parts. In order for this to be effective, manufacturers will have to establish a long-term relationship with purchasers. There is potential for this to happen in other industries too.

The US way of business

Article Abstract:

The UK government seems to be trying to move the relationship between itself and business towards the American model, but has so far been unable to really understand how this model works. Further problems are being created by the fact that the business community is aware that its relations with the government have undergone a dramatic change but has not yet fully adjusted to this. The government seems keen to bring business into the Cabinet, but has still not entirely shifted away from regarding business as the enemy.
