Clinton faces his moment of truth

Article Abstract:

President Bill Clinton is scheduled to testify in his own defense before a grand jury on Aug 17 1998. He runs risks to his family, reputation, political legacy and presidency. Opinion polls show 70% believing that Clinton lied about an affair with Monica Lewinsky, though he has denied having such an affair. A majority of 63% also approve of Clinton's work as president. He may seek to admit an affair but deny that it complies with a legal definition of sexual relations, so argue that he did not previously commit perjury.

Remember Vukovar - for the sake of the dead, and the survivors who must bring it back to life

Article Abstract:

There is likely to be considerable tension in the town of Vukovar, Croatia, as Croatia reoccupies Eastern Slavonia. The town's Croat residents were forced out when it was taken by the Serbs in 1991, following Croatia's declaration of independence from Yugoslavia. Croat homes were destroyed, while those of the minority Serb population remained intact. The Serbs who are still living in Eastern Slavonia fear that they may become the target of revenge attacks by returning Croats.
