Cool Clinton scores top marks in the character test

Article Abstract:

Despite a background of scandal Bill Clinton now appears to be the ideal presidential candidate for the Democrats. With good looks, a Yale background, affability and and ability to answer questions thoroughly, Mr Clinton maybe the Democrats best hope for regaining the White House. Governor of Arkansas almost continuously since 1979, Mr Clinton typifies the moderate wing of the party and has won union support and support from the South. Gossip of womanising has always dogged Mr Clinton's name and he could get more support if his name was cleared of involvement.

Clinton holds budget aces

Article Abstract:

President Bill Clinton is preparing to clash with Congress over the federal budget. He has sought to gain the upper hand by threatening to veto Congressional tax and healthcare reform plans, and this approach could bring considerable advantages as he seeks re-election in 1996. If neither side is prepared to yield ground, it is possible that the US could move into debt default.
