Distribution

Article Abstract:

A number of specialist upholstery retailers, [articularly ScS, DFS and UNO, have dominated the retail distribution of furniture in the UK. Mainstream furniture retailers offering different upholstered furniture under one location also provided competition. Interest-free credit was offered by big mail order companies such as Littlewoods, Grattan and Freemans, and Great Universal Stores. Mail order furniture sales via catalogues including Marks & Spencer and Next Directory are also becoming more common in recent years.
