Doing the hippy hippy take

Article Abstract:

Russian filmmaker Artur Aristakisyan feels that he is concerned merely with survival, rather than with fame or making money. He connects physical survival very closely with artistic survival. He believes that many poor quality films are being made in Russia, and prefers to follow his instincts, away from the influence of writers and artists. His first feature film is two-thirds complete, but it is uncertain whether he will be obtain the funds required to finish it.

Not so hippy, not so happy

Article Abstract:

The Tinkers' Bubble community in Norton-sub-Hamdon, Somerset, UK, is made up of people who regard themselves as 'intellectual campers.' They are inspired by the Diggers, a 17th century group of agrarian 'communists,' and believe that poor people should have access to the land. They hope to become a self-sufficient community, growing their own food and raising animals. However, they have attracted considerable criticism from local residents.

And, can you believe it, they called me a hippy

Article Abstract:

Indian music first came to be really appreciated in the UK through Ravi Shankar, who was extremely popular in the 1960s. However, he had the misfortune to be associated with the hippy culture of the time, and was extremely unhappy with the general view that everyone in India took drugs. He has always performed traditional music, but has also shown a willingness to explore new forms.
