Don't slap curfews on children who are lost in a world full of dangers

Article Abstract:

British legislation that gives police and magistrates the power to impose curfews is examined in detail. They would prevent children under 16 years of age from entering areas troubled by criminal activity between nine in the evening and six in the morning.

Scientific optimism is the problem, not the irrational fear of cloning

Moral and ethical issues raised by the cloning of human beings are examined in detail. Many people are against cloning on principle. Gaps in current scientific knowledge would make the procedure unsafe.

Our lazy tolerance of child abuse

UK society still takes it for granted that children will be regularly physically abused by adults. While this view prevails, children will never really be safe. It is now time to outlaw smacking.
