Hopes of finding bin Laden fade as fighters flee

'Enthusiastic Nazi who took pleasure in slaughter of Jews.'

Article Abstract:

The trial is taking place at the Old Bailey in London, England, of Anthony Sawoniuk, who is accused of murdering 20 Jews between Sep 19, 1942, and Dec 31, 1942. It is alleged that these crimes took place in the town of Domachevo in south-west Belarus, where Sawoniuk was working for the Nazis as a member of a locally recruited police force. The prosecution claims that he played a key role in rounding up Jews who had fled the town to avoid a large-scale massacre.
