Whatever happened to the idea of honour among spies?

Article Abstract:

Spying is now driven by money, rather than ideology. During the Cold War, espionage was carried out by two roughly equal sides, but superiority of the US means that this is no longer the case.

This was all too horribly familiar for a nation in a state of anxiety

Article Abstract:

The crash of American Airlines 587 in the Rockaway area of Queens, New York, NY, has caused New Yorkers to relive the horrors of the terrorist attacks on Sep 11, 2001. It is hard for many people to accept that this incident was probably just a tragic accident.

Hamstrung and half-broke it may be, but we need the UN

Article Abstract:

The United Nations (UN) has an important role to play in world affairs, but it needs the backing of the five major world powers. The US has loosened links with the UN and there have been a number of disasters such as Somalia in 1993. There has been disagreement on how crises should be tackled, and this has pitted the US against many other UN members. There are fewer policy divisions, but finance has become a key issue in US relations with the UN.
