Equal pay, equal play

Article Abstract:

Most women find it very hard to make time for play in their lives. They generally have considerable less leisure time than men, and find their leisure time even more restricted if they have children. Women are increasingly becoming aware that they need more time for themselves, but they are still unable to enjoy a moment of relaxation if they feel that they are forcing themselves to relax. For many women, it will take a lot of practice before they learn to relax properly.

The prose, the pose, the passion

Article Abstract:

Courses which offer advice to aspiring novelists have become extremely popular in the UK. There is particular interest in residential courses in countryside locations, which may offer relaxation and refreshment as much as specific advice. Such courses offer a unique atmosphere, and that alone may be enough to encourage some people to write. They attract people of all ages and from many different backgrounds, and in some cases firm friendships are formed.

Pinochet. A name from the past. An 82-year-old anachronism. But not for Luis. He remembers every last hammer blow, every burn, every electric shock. And he doesn't want you to forget it

Article Abstract:

Luis Munos finds it hard to understand why he survived torture and beatings during General Augusto Pinochet's brutal rule in Chile when so many others did not survive. He was able to leave Chile in 1976, and has lived in the UK since then. He believes that he has only been able to reach a point where he can recount his experiences because of 10 years of therapy and a great deal of assistance from the Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture.
