Kidnapped! And all in the name of art

Article Abstract:

Theatre company Blast Theory has attracted more than 300 volunteers to its 'Kidnap' venture. This involves the volunteers paying a registration fee of 10 pounds sterling. They then have the chance to be one of 10 people placed under surveillance, but will only know if they have been selected when they receive photographs of themselves in the post. Two people are selected to be taken prisoner for 48 hours in a safe house. They are filmed interacting with each other, and this is broadcast live on the Internet. Matt Adams, one of the company's directors, recognizes that some people will not regard this venture as art.

The secret of his success? He's sorry, he hasn't a clue

Article Abstract:

Humphrey Lyttelton regards himself primarily as a trumpet player, although he has become most well known as chairman of the extremely popular Radio 4 quiz show 'I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue.' He plays down his role in giving this show a cult following, pointing out the importance of the three regular panelists. He claims that he has no idea why the show is so popular, but believes that its atmosphere of irreverence could be appealing to audiences. He believes that there are some connections between comedy and jazz.
