Every day I ask myself, 'Why am I here?' (Karamjit Singh Chahal, facing allegations concering terrorist offences)(Interview)

Article Abstract:

Karamjit Singh Chahal has been in Bedford prison since 1990, having been arrested pending deportation to India for reasons of national security. He has never been charged with any offence, and knows only that there are serious allegations against him concerning unspecified terrorist offences. He believes that he should be brought to court to answer any allegations, but the UK government is still keen to deport him to India, where his life may be at risk. He has now lost his right to remain in the UK, where he has lived for many years.

The fantasist that time forgot

Article Abstract:

Author Edward Upward is the last surviving member of the 'Auden Group' of writers who were extremely influential in the 1930s, but has received very little media attention in recent years. He has accepted that his friends of that era, who included Christopher Isherwood and Louis MacNeice, will always be seen as more talented than him, although he showed considerable early promise. He has always found writing a struggle, but is still working on a memoir of his friendship with Christopher Isherwood.
