Exclusive! (Sort of)

Article Abstract:

The decision by the Sun to publish a picture taken secretly at the wedding of David Beckham and Victoria Adams, even though OK! magazine had agreed to purchase the exclusive right to photographs of the wedding, highlights a number of issues regarding copyright in relation to media exclusivity. There are clearly problems associated with protecting exclusive picture deals at big events. In these cases, self-regulation must be preferred to legal intervention. Copyright has limited application in protecting this form of media exclusivity.
