Food, glorious food
Article Abstract:
There are now more than 12 farmers' markets held regularly in the UK, and many more are set to be established in 1999. These markets offer small, specialist producers the opportunity to sell their high quality goods directly to customers. Markets have a rather negative image in the UK, and it may be some time before shoppers realize that they can visit farmers' markets to obtain varied, high quality food. Local authorities wish to encourage farmers' markets, which they see as having the potential to revive town centres.

Who are you calling greedy? I'm a recovering food addict
Article Abstract:
It seems to have become increasingly fashionable in the UK to have some form of addiction. New types of addiction are emerging, overshadowing those with which society has been familiar for many years, such as alcoholism. Some people claim to be addicted to chocolate, for example, while others believe themselves to be addicted to shopping or scratch cards. It seems that there is a temptation to claim as an addiction behaviour which is merely a bad habit and has no medical basis.

Who are you calling trailer trash?
Article Abstract:
The UK has hundreds of mobile home sites, where around 200,000 people benefit from low-cost housing. Some mobile home residents own their home, and they tend to keep it in good repair. In contrast, those who are merely renting their mobile home pay little attention to its appearance or to maintaining it. Mobile homes are very cheap to make, and the re-sale value of second-hand homes is therefore very low. The most basic, two-bedroom model costs around 20,000 pounds sterling.
