France: 1 Yobs: 0 But what about the replay?

Article Abstract:

English football fans convicted of serious offences in France have been sentenced extremely quickly. This is a very different approach from that taken in the UK, where sentencing is a slow process, even if the accused pleads guilty and already has a criminal record. Some observers believe that rapid sentencing acts a strong deterrent to football hooligans, who fear being held in a foreign jail. However, others feel that acting so quickly brings the risk of justice not been administered properly.
