Article Abstract:

Francis Bacon was born in 1909 in Dublin, Ireland, to English parents. He was sent to Dean Close School in Cheltenham, England, but did not stay long because of asthma. He was tutored by the parish priest and worked on his father's farm. He passionately disliked Catholicism. He was a homosexual. He began painting at about 23, with no training. He became a regular at Muriel's bar, the Colony Room in Soho. From 1951-1962 his art output was consistent as he was a disciplined worker. He died on Apr 28, 1992 in Madrid. He left his estate of 11,370,244 pounds sterling to his friend John Edwards.

Francis Durbridge

Article Abstract:

Crime writer Francis Durbridge studied at Birmingham University, England, and was then able to earn his living as a writer for the rest of his life, apart from a short time in a stockbroker's office. He first came to public attention with his radio play 'Send for Paul Temple,' broadcast in Apr and May 1939. In total, he wrote 20 Paul Temple serials for radio over 30 years, along with other mystery serials and plays. His work entered the realm of television in the 1950s and 1960s.

The province of Hatay, situated in the south-west corner of Turkey, is one of the most politically stable in the country, yet it attracts few tourists. It is extremely culturally diverse, but there is a high level of tolerance. There are many traditional buildings, and the local people are relaxed and friendly.
