Free standing might help you to be flexible

Article Abstract:

There are mixed views among financial advisers in the UK about whether it is best to choose a company-managed Additional Voluntary Contribution (AVC) policy through which to make additional contributions to an occupational pension scheme or whether a free-standing AVC operated independently of the company offers a better deal. A free-standing AVC offers portability, and some also argue that it offers privacy, as the employer does not need to know about additional payments. However, there are indications that most free-standing AVCs are investing in very similar funds to AVCs.

Invest in the best

Article Abstract:

Many people in the UK are not willing to spend time researching the best financial services, according to the Consumers' Association. In many cases, they will simply purchase the first pension, life insurance or investment they find, believing that there is very little to choose between different products. In fact, research can bring considerable cost savings. It is particularly important when purchasing life insurance, as lack of attention to detail can lead to the policyholder being committed for 25 years, with heavy penalties for early withdrawal.

Can gold be mined for profits?

Article Abstract:

Gold markets have been very strong recently, with prices rising considerably. However, small investors need to be aware that investing in gold can be risky unless great care is taken to select the right moment. The wisest investors enter the market when the price is low, and leave it when the price is high. However, it is still worth considering shares in gold mining concerns Driefontein, Ashanti and Kinross.
