US: NESTLE CONSIDERS BID FOR QUAKER OATS

Article Abstract:

Nestle is considering a possible bid for Quaker Oats, the American food giant. Various possible suitors have rebuffed Quaker but Nestle is impressed with its developments at Quaker, such as its Gatorade sports drink. Analysts believe Quaker's products represent a good fit for Nestle although there is concern at the US$ 14bn valuation placed on Quaker. A bid from Nestle could damage its own share price.
