It takes guts

Article Abstract:

A famed designer, Otto Zapf of Germany, was asked by a Russian firm to design a table made from titanium. Zapf designed a chair instead because titanium is one of the lightest known metals of which Russia has a considerable quantity in the form of submarines. Investment in Eastern Europe and Russia may seem foolhardy but patience may bring many returns in the future. Twelve American firms have already invested in Russia at a time when Russia is deciding whether or not to join the world market.
