Golfer Payne Stewart turned professional in 1979 at the age of 22. His first professional title was the Malaysian Open in 1981. He also won the Indian Open in 1981, followed by the Australian Open in 1982. He distinguished himself from other tour professionals by wearing unusual clothes and forming a band with Peter Jacobsen, called Jake Trout and the Flounders. His first victory in the US was the Quad Cities Open in 1982. He made his debut in the Ryder Cup in 1987, and in 1989 won his first major, the USPGA Championship at Kemper Lakes in Hawthorn Woods, IL.

French monasteries are often extremely attractive buildings architecturally. Visitors can also benefit from listening to and viewing the medieval ecclesiastical tradition in liturgy. The monks at the monastery of St Wandrille, situated in a valley close to Caudebec-en-Caux, France, worship in a 13th-century tithe barn, while solemn Gregorian chant can be heard at Solesmes on the Sarthe, south-west of Le Mans, France. It is also worth visiting the monastery of St Benoit, which has magnificent Romanesque architecture.
