Good and bad at gamesmanship

Article Abstract:

Aggression is inevitably a key element in contact sports such as rugby. In some cases, aggression is instrumental, as it allows a goal to be achieved, even though somebody may get hurt in the process. In other cases, aggression is hostile, with injury being inflicted for no real purpose. Contact sports can help children and young people channel their aggression positively, but they must also learn to observe the rules. Some observers believe that learning rules which apply in a physical environment helps children to become better citizens.

The holiday as trial by teenager

Article Abstract:

Organizing a family holiday that appeals to teenagers can be extremely difficult. Teenagers often have strong ideas about what they dislike, but lack the sense of responsibility to organize an acceptable alternative. In many cases, teenagers actually want to come on a family holiday, but feel that they need to assert their independence by protesting. It is important to ensure that teenagers can form a group with other teenagers on holiday if they wish to.
