Grammar schools are the breeding ground of privilege

Article Abstract:

Grammar schools were part of a selective system that was gradually replaced by comprehensive schools in the United Kingdom. There are 166 public sector grammar schools in England, and southern England accounts for half of these. Independent grammar schools have better facilities than state schools and are seen as more prestigious. The children who go there consider themselves superior to children at state schools. Parents should be able to vote on the issue of selection of their children at the age of 11-years-old.

Here's how, Tony

Article Abstract:

There are a number of factors which UK Labour party leader Tony Blair and his shadow cabinet must take into account as they prepare to become the party of government. It is important to realise that government ministers often have little opportunity to communicate with each other, in contrast to members of a shadow cabinet. The job of a government minister is a prestigious one, but brings many problems and heavy responsibilities. Even top ministers should treat MPs with respect and listen to what they have to say.
