How the 'genius' of a tiny band of terrorists eclipsed the Shining Path

Article Abstract:

The recent attack on a Japanese diplomatic reception in Lima, Peru, by the Tupac Amaru guerrilla group has served to severely damage the reputation of Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori, whose popularity was largely based on claims that he had put an end to the long-running guerrilla conflict. The guerrilla group selected a prime target, especially in the light of growing concerns in Peru about the economy becoming dominated by Japan. A number of Latin American leaders seem to be wanting to increase their personal power, and this is serving to boost support for leftist, anti-government groups in the region.

How dolphins break the silence

Article Abstract:

The Dolphin Human Therapy Centre in Key Biscayne, FL, treats children with a range of neurological conditions, including autism and cerebral palsy. Families of such children believe that dolphin therapy can be extremely valuable in helping the child learn to talk. Some experts are more sceptical, believing that any progress the children make is simply because they enjoy being with the dolphins. Families are prepared to go to great lengths to raise the $6,200 required for the recommended two-week therapy course.
