How to navigate the management rapids

Article Abstract:

It is now widely recognised that managers need many different skills in order to cope with the challenges of modern business life. Most recently, Randall P. White, Philip Hodgson and Stuart Crainer have written a book which identifies key skills. These are made up of three enablers - difficult learning, being effective and resonant simplicity - and two channels - multiple focus and mastering inner sense. They stress that these skills will not eliminate the challenges of modern business life, but assist managers in coping with them.

She has extensive experience in brand-building, and this has enabled her to work on developing the trademarks in the Grand Metropolitan portfolio. However, she is also aware of the dangers of taking this development too far.
