Hubert Lansley

Article Abstract:

Hubert Lansley was a journalist who was taken on by the editor of Meccano Magazine, Ellison Hawks, when he was a boy. Lansley was given the task of making models from Meccano model-building equipment when he was 16-years-old. He wrote well and had good ideas, attracting teenage readers. He left the magazine when he was 23-years-old and set up a shop for Meccano in Muswell Hill, London, England. The 1939 to 1945 war ended supplies of Meccano, and Lansley then worked in accountancy and legal affairs, though he later resumed links with Meccano through societies in the 1970s.

Article Abstract:

Former Conservative Minister for Corporate Affairs Neil Hamilton, who resigned over the cash-for-questions affair in 1994, remains determined to clear his name. He is strongly supported in his efforts by his wife Christine, who points out that they have had to dramatically reduce their expenditure as it has been impossible for her husband, who is now regarded very negatively, to obtain alternative employment. She is currently writing a novel based on the experiences of a friend. Neil Hamilton is also writing a novel, which he intends to entitle 'The Media Assassins.'
