'I cannot accept seeing my children as refugees. I will again be with my people.' (Bosnian refugees begin to return; first in series)

Article Abstract:

Some Muslims who fled from Bosnia at the height of the ethnic conflict are now beginning to return. They have welcomed the opportunity to take shelter in countries such as the UK, but see their long-term future in Bosnia, rather than in permanent exile. Those who have spent time in the UK have found a warm reception, and have benefited from living among many different nationalities. They hope that they will find a similar ethnic openness on their return to Bosnia.

Refugees lie slaughtered in the road. But who takes the blame?

Article Abstract:

The Serb authorities have stated that Nato has committed a crime against humanity with the rocket attack on two refugee convoys in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, in which at least 60 ethnic Albanian civilians died. The US has retaliated by claiming that the Serbs themselves bombarded the convoy of refugees travelling behind their vehicles or that the refugees were attacked on the ground. The Pentagon insists that the Nato attack struck a military convoy.

Babo's lost tribe is on the road to nowhere

Article Abstract:

The 30,000 Bosnian Muslims who remain loyal to warlord Fikret Abdic have been forced to flee Velika Kladusa following the Croat attack on their Krajina Serb allies. They are now surviving on humanitarian aid and food looted from Serb homes, but are still fiercely loyal to Abdic. They believe that he will eventually be able to bring them freedom, peace and employment.
