Innocent beyond doubt

Article Abstract:

It seems increasingly likely that the Maguire Seven, who were wrongfully convicted of possessing explosives on the basis of forensic evidence which proved unreliable after their trial, will receive a public apology. This follows the recent revelation that contaminated test equipment was used at the UK government's Forensic Explosive Laboratory to test evidence. Alastair Logan, the solicitor who still represents the men, believes that it should be clearly stated that they were wrongfully convicted because contaminated equipment was used.

And to you I bequeath my warped sense of humour

Article Abstract:

UK lawyers have set up a number of initiatives designed to encourage people to make a will. These include the charity Will Aid, which runs an annual month-long period during which lawyers will draw up a will free of charge in return for a 40 pounds sterling donation to charity. Some observers have expressed doubts about this initiative, as they feel that many of the wills drafted will be the most basic sort, whereas some clients may have actually required more specific advice.
