Just because they're campus kids doesn't mean the cord's been cut

Article Abstract:

Many parents feel tempted to exploit their independence to the full when their children leave home to study at university. They assume that their children are now establishing a life of their own and that they no longer need much parental support. In fact, many students still need the stability of family life, and their self-confidence can be badly affected if their parents seem to be developing a separate lifestyle. It is important that parents realize that students must be included in any important family decisions, such as moving house.
