Just play ball

Article Abstract:

There has been considerable interest in the UK in the paintings of 11-year-old Beso Kazaishvili, who comes from Akutaisi, Georgia. His paintings, which are semi-abstract, are characterized by bright blocks of colour set within strong black lines, and show a very unusual approach for a child. He is enjoying the attention he is currently receiving, but still has a very down-to-earth attitude. His work is on display at the Roy Miles Gallery in London, England.

Pick up the pieces cheaply

Article Abstract:

There has been a significant growth in interest in collecting jigsaw puzzles in the UK recently. There is particular interest in jigsaws with a transport-related theme, with those showing Great Western Railways scenes being most valued. Wise collectors will focus on market niches where there has been little action so far. Here, it is possible to obtain jigsaws very cheaply, and there is a good chance of their value rising eventually.

Nipper memorabilia going for a hit song

Article Abstract:

Nipper the dog, the HMV trademark, has become very attractive to collectors. There is particular interest in unusual Nipper items commissioned by HMV for its own dealers, VIPs, retiring executives and long-serving employees. It is worth looking out for Nipper memorabilia at street markets and car boot sales. Items produced in large numbers will fetch only a small amount of money, but more unusual items can be quite valuable.
