The Bush Theatre in London, England, has had a strong commitment to encouraging talented young writers since it was founded in 1967. It will continue to focus on finding good new plays and staging them to the best of its ability, according to current artistic director Mike Bradwell. It has recently suffered a significant reduction in its grant funding, and this could have a negative impact on its new writing policies. However, it is positive about the future, and plans including creating a circuit of new writing with theatres in the US.
