Look what they've done to my brain, ma

Article Abstract:

Parents may believe that allowing children to use a computer will teach them useful skills, but the opposite may be true, and children may fail to learn skills such as socializing and talking. Computers may have less educational value than realized, with children rewarded for trial and error. Funds spent on computers in schools may be subtracted from remedial programs and other important projects. Computers have some benefits, for example through word processing, which fosters experimentation, but time on computers should be rationed.

The Rovers of business

Article Abstract:

Many people still regard the MBA courses offered by the UK's former polytechnics as being inferior to those offered by business schools or older universities. However, many former polytechnics are now trying to improve their image and to compete with the leading MBA institutions. It can be hard for former polytechnics to gain Association of MBA accreditation if financial constraints force them to take on MBA students who do not meet the accreditation criteria.
