Love me, don't

Article Abstract:

It is common for the general public to quickly gain a fixed view of a particular actor, and this is almost impossible to shed, according to John Malkovich. He is closely associated with psychotic characters, but does not really care that this is his public image. He is very contemptuous of films, and believes that even some of the films in which he has appeared have been poor. He was one of the leading founders of the Steppenwolf Theatre company, and remains closely involved with the company's work.

From Withnail to downtime ... and now the big time

Article Abstract:

Actor Paul McGann does not believe that experiencing success early in his career with the cult classic 'Withnail and I' hampered his subsequent career development. However, he does admit that all subsequent scripts did not compared with 'Withnail and I.' Richard E. Grant, who starred with McGann in that film, has developed a career in Hollywood, but McGann prefers to make high quality British films. His most recent venture is the low budget film 'Downtime,' in which he plays a police psychologist.

Gay, Welsh, stupid? That's life

Article Abstract:

Actor Jason Hughes found it difficult initially to deal with playing a gay man in the television series 'This Life.' He had no experience of gay culture, and found it hard to research his role. He felt that he had a responsibility to the gay community to portray a gay man as accurately as possible. In general, his performance received warm praise. He was pleased that he was not obliged to play a stereotypical Welsh character, despite his Welsh accent.
