Madly in love: how Nicola Pagett's infatuation tipped over into obsession

Article Abstract:

Actress Nicola Pagett's life has been significantly affected by the obsession she developed with Alastair Campbell, press secretary to UK Prime Minister Tony Blair. She began to suffer from obsessive manic depression, and even believed that Campbell had instructed her to accuse her husband of having an incestuous relationship with their 15-year-old daughter. Experts do not fully understand what makes people shift from a harmless interest in another person to a full-scale obsession. However, they believe that life stressors and predisposition may play a role.
