Modern women may decide their place is at home with the children

Article Abstract:

Growing emphasis is being placed on the need to ensure that women with children are not deprived of the opportunity to progress in their career. However, consideration must also be given to the possibility that many women find that their priorities change when they have children. They feel a strong need to be with their children when they are young, and may find that complex arrangements designed to allow them to combine motherhood with a career are not appropriate. Care should be taken to avoid forcing women with children to make a strong commitment to career progress if they do not wish to.
